Palermo - AC Milan

Milan was mauled in Sicily with all goals in this one coming in the second half. Palermo manhandled AC Milan after the interval with early goals by Fabrizio Micoli (50′) and “El Matador” Edinson Cavani (59′).  Brazilian midfielder Fábio Simplicio added to the Palermo tally in the 80th minute taking a 3 - 0 lead over the Rossoneri.  Ronaldinho would score a consolation goal for the visitors with a converted penalty in the dying moments.

After the match Palermo manager, Davide Ballardini, was questioned by reporters on the performance of his players and how it felt to defeat the visitors from the North.

“We played a great game tonight” said Ballardini continuing,  “it is a great feeling to defeat a team who are favourites for the Scudetto, in my opinion.”

Udinese - Chievo
Next notable upset would be Chievo winning 1 - 0 against Udinese in Udin.  After four consecutive defeats, Udinese director general Pietro Leonardi cannot deny his team are in crisis.  The home side showed no creativity after the sending off of striker Antonio Di Natale.  The Udinese hitman was served a red card by referee Matteo Trefoloni  in the 57th minute for his reaction to an offside call, disallowing his goal on a through-ball by Floro Flores.  Chievo would press the man advantage eventually profitting by an o.g. from Udinese defender Felipe off a cornerkick three minutes short of regulation time.
