We are into the sin­gle dig­its in terms of num­ber of weeks left in the Serie A sea­son. 9 weeks left till the end of the sea­son and I am suf­fer­ing from some seri­ous writ­ers’ block.  That’s ok cause, there is still a Team Of The Week.  The Serie A Team Of The Week for Week 29 played matches and/or made head­lines dur­ing the cal­en­dar week of March  16 — 22.

The win­ningest team in the his­tory of Ital­ian 1st first divi­sion foot­ball now gets to add Team Of The Week to their vast tro­phy case.  Juven­tus had the most impres­sive score­line of the week with their 4–1 thrash­ing of AS Roma in Rome.  The beat­down at the Sta­dio Olimpico was led by Vin­cenzo Iaquinta’s dou­ble.  Olaf Mell­berg & Pavel Nedved added goals to fin­ish off the Romans.

La Vec­chia Sig­nora have won 5 straight and are unbeaten in their last 7 matches and seem to have recov­ered from the Cal­ciopoli scan­dal.  Say what you want about Clau­dio Rainieri but he’s done well this sea­son with the squad despite what will be a tro­phy less season.
